How to remove the stress you may have when relocating your office

Relocating your Los Angeles offices could be one of the most stressful events that you could go through, as relocation is classed as one of the most stressful life events.

This might explains why Michael Hirschfeld, the managing of a real-estate company, said, "I have always been scheduled to be out of town for the day before, day of, and day after moving day."

However, there is no need to completely avoid your L.A. office during the move as here are some tips to help you through the process.

1)  Firstly, make sure you plan ahead as you can never be too prepared. You should consider everything from the layout of your new office, where internet connections will go and in what order to move and install hardware.

2)  Be prepared for any eventuality as things rarely go according to plan, so you should be ready to improvise. This could be everything from the movers going to the wrong address to your electrician not being at the new office on time.

3)  Make the most of the move and use it to upgrade your furniture or computer system, this could be switching to virtual desktops or just buying new LCD monitors.

4)  Accept that you may have to close your office and even turn away customers. Sharon Adcock, a communications consultant, said, "I notify clients, editors, associates and friends in advance, via e-mail or phone, that my availability will be somewhat limited for a day or two."

5)  Use migrating software to automatically update new computers, for instance Outlook imports e-mail preferences when you upgrade from earlier versions.

So if you are relocating to new office space in L.A. then these tips will help to minimise the stress and make it a little bit more bearable.
